POP-ROCKER Enrique Iglesias and his model and former tennis star girlfriend Anna Kournikova have given birth to twins after keeping their first-ever pregnancy a secret from the media.
Fraternal (non-identical) twins Nicholas and Lucy were born at the weekend, according to the celebrity website TMZ, just a few days after Enrique, 42, did not attend his half-sister Ana Boyer's wedding to tennis ace Fernando Verdasco.
Media speculation was rife at the time as to why he did not, but it now transpires that he was unable to leave his home in Miami as he was expecting Anna, 36, to go into labour at any minute.
The couple, who have been together since 2001, did not even mention their pregnancy on social media, meaning Nicholas' and Lucy's birth has been a complete surprise to all bar their closest friends and family.
They have been successful in keeping a low press profile during their 16-year relationship – the last time they were photographed together was over a year ago in November 2016 on a boat cruise off Miami's shores.
Enrique, son of legendary crooner Julio Iglesias and model, socialite and TV presenter, part-Philippine Isabel Preysler, has lived in the Florida city for many years with Russian model Anna.
During her tennis career, Anna has won an Olympic gold – in 1996 – a WTA World Tour title, two International Tennis Federation (ITF) titles, six Grand Slams and reached world number eight in the WTA rankings in November 2000.
Since hanging up her racket and becoming a model, she also appeared briefly in the film Me, Myself and Irene alongside Jim Carrey and Renée Zellweger.
