A LINE of over 50 slow-moving cars filled Barcelona this evening (Saturday) hooting and waving Spanish flags in protest over the Catalunya independence movement.
They started from the Plaça Artós and covered the C/ Balmes and the Gran Vía in a wheeled march organised by the associations Aixeca't, Los de Artós, Españoles de a Pie ('Spaniards on Foot') and Espanya i Catalans ('Spain and the catalán people').
Car radios were turned up to full volumn and playing Manolo Escobar's famous song Y Viva España, whilst drivers and passengers chanted, “I am Spanish,” “Puigdemont in prison,” and “Everything starts here.”
Metropolitan police said that apart from the general din, no trouble occurred and they did not need to intervene at any point.
