Benicàssim crash victim's mother says driver 'meant to kill her'

Benicàssim crash victim's mother says driver 'meant to kill her'

Benicàssim crash victim's mother says driver 'meant to kill her'
THE mother of a young woman killed when her boyfriend's car crashed into a Benicàssim petrol station is convinced the driver kidnapped her daughter and that the collision was deliberate.

National Police in the Castellón-province coastal town are already treating what appeared to be a tragic and dramatic accident as domestic violence, but it was revealed on Christmas Day that the young woman's mother is convinced this is the correct line of investigation.

Her daughter, 20, had apparently suffered physical and verbal aggression over two years at the hands of her partner, 28, who eventually had an injunction placed on him preventing him from approaching her.

He broken the injunction three times – the most recent being a fortnight before they both died, when he attempted to run over his ex-girlfriend deliberately.

The man is believed to have known what he was doing when, on Saturday at around 06.45, with his former girlfriend in the passenger seat, drove his car at speed into a petrol station on the N-340 national highway in Benicàssim, causing it to burst into flames.
