A HOUSE in Galicia has been searched in connection with the disappearance of Sonia Iglesias in 2010, who has never yet been found.
Her ex-partner, Julio Araújo, was present whilst the property in Pontevedra the couple used to live in was raided for five hours this morning (Tuesday) after the case was reopened in light of new evidence, having been closed in 2015 due to the trail having gone cold.
Araújo has not been arrested.
The property belongs to Araújo's family and has been locked up since Sonia went missing, but is currently up for sale.
Police and the fire brigade have focused on an 800-square-metre plot of land on the premises, using geo-radar technology, and have dug a deep well.
Firefighters have bailed out an existing ornamental well.
Araújo was seen driving away from the property in his own car with two other women.
Sonia, who was 38 at the time, is known to have visited a shoe shop on August 18, 2010 but did not turn up to her workplace at a shopping centre in Pontevedra afterwards.
Her family says they have always been 'suspicious' of Araújo, who is also the father of Sonia's son and who has been investigated but never charged.
A demonstration takes place in Pontevedra every year on August 18 in Sonia's memory and to push for her case to be reopened.
