IRA murder suspect arrested in Fuengirola
A FUGITIVE wanted for murder who belongs to the IRA has been arrested in Fuengirola (Málaga), National Police in the Costa del Sol seaside town confirm.

Dean E., 28, is accused of at least one violent killing in Gormanston, Republic of Ireland on March 6, 2013, and was sentenced to prison.

He went on the run and a European arrest warrant was issued on March 21, 2017, by which time Interpol had also been looking for him for two weeks.

The international organised crime squad, UDYCO, working with Irish police, traced him to Fuengirola and he was arrested yesterday (Friday).

It is not clear whether the murder was in connection with his membership of the Ulster-based terrorist organisation, the Irish Republican Army (IRA).

The IRA has not committed any major attacks since the mid-1990s, when Dean would have been a small child.

In the photograph, mourners carry the coffin of Northern Ireland's former deputy First Minister and ex-IRA commander Martin McGuinness, who was Sinn Féin MP for Mid-Ulster until 2013 and one of the main drivers of the Good Friday Agreement.

This ground-breaking peace treaty, signed in April 1998, came into effect just before the Millennium, finally bringing peace to Northern Ireland after decades of violence.

His death aged 66 from amyloidosis, a disease that attacked his vital organs, was – coincidentally – on the same day that Dean E.'s European arrest warrant was issued.
