EUROVISION Song Contest representative for Belarus has met his Spanish 'parents' again after 16 years in Murcia.
Nikita Alekseev, 24, originally from Ukraine, will sing the track Forever at the contest in Lisbon, Portugal, and is currently in its neighbouring country for the Eurovision-Spain Preparty 2018.
He spent six consecutive summers with Pepa and Fernando in Mula, Murcia, and they had wanted to adopt him and have him living with them full-time.
“For six years on the trot, I spent my summers with this wonderful Spanish family in a little place called Mula; we haven't seen each other for 16 years, but I still remember the taste of Mum Pepa's biscuits, the nights when Dad Fernando and I let off fireworks from the roof of the house, and my feelings when they offered to let me live with them forever. Tomorrow, at last, we'll be able to meet again and give each other big hugs,” Alekseev said on Instagram ahead of the emotional reunion.
The singer shared photographs and videos in Twitter and Instagram of the meeting, in which neither he nor the couple were able to hold back their tears.
Alekseev also posted videos in which the three of them reminisce over old photographs of his summers in Mula and drive around in their car listening to Alekseev's Eurovision song.
