Police investigate video of boy, 7, driving car
TRAFFIC police in the province of Sevilla are investigating a video which has appeared on social media in which a seven-year-old boy appears to be driving a car on a public road.

The child is accompanied by both parents, sitting on his father's lap whilst his mother films him.

His father, on the video, is controlling the pedals, and not wearing a seatbelt, whilst his son steers the car.

Guardia Civil officers say: “Even though at first glance it looks like a funny anecdote, society needs to be conscious of how serious it really is.”

Andalucía's Traffic Analysis and Investigation Group (GIAT) has launched a probe after receiving an anonymous tip-off from a member of the public who saw the video online.

The boy's parents could both be charged with dangerous driving.

“Civil education is fundamental in the fight against road accidents, and for children of this age, parents are a basic link in the chain and a strong influence on how the next generation behaves,” the Guardia Civil says.
