The accused, 25, was caught after an inquiry was launched in response to a mother who told police her daughter, 11, had been getting 'constant pressure' to meet up with a person for a 'sexual encounter' via three different social media profiles.
Police found that the paedophile had lured 42 girls, all aged between 11 and 15 and based in 14 different provinces in Spain, via Facebook and Instagram.
Once in contact and having gained their trust, he talked them into sending erotic photographs and videos of themselves, constantly pressuring them and threatening them via WhatsApp if they stalled or refused.
He managed to meet up with one of them, a girl aged 13, and manipulated her into having sex with him.
When she got pregnant, he gave her the money to buy an abortion pill.
Police raided the accused's home, where they found photographs and videos of 'extremely hard child porn'.
It is believed the child he got pregnant went ahead with an abortion, but if she had carried the foetus to term and proceeded with the pregnancy, it would have been a very high medical risk that could have put her life in danger.
