Boy, 4, drowns in rubber dinghy accident
A FOUR-YEAR-OLD boy has drowned off a Cádiz-province beach after his rubber dinghy was blown away and overturned, according to emergency services.

The coastguard was called out at around 18.40 on Monday to Retín beach in Barbate and pulled the child out of the water after he had fallen out of the lilo when it flipped over.

Several other bathers, who called emergency services, had tried unsuccessfully to rescue him.

A helicopter and two lifeboats went out and found the dinghy empty, then quickly traced the drowning child, who had gone into cardiac arrest.

Rescuers performed CPR on him all the way back to the port and continued upon arrival, but to no avail.
