A BRITISH former rugby player is in police custody after reportedly tying up, beating and raping a young woman in Mallorca.
Named as Dylan Rogers, 26, the accused lives and works in the nightlife resort area of Magaluf, and his victim is also an expatriate, although it is not clear whether they knew each other before the assault.
The 22-year-old woman, who is not Spanish or British but whose nationality has not been revealed, was bound with insulating tape in an apartment in the S'Arenal area of Palma and left there by her attacker after suffering repeated violent blows and being raped.
She managed to free herself, escape and find a police officer to help her.
According to reports in various UK media, the woman was admitted to hospital 'covered in bruises'.
Dylan Rogers was arrested around 12 hours later, in the early hours, in an apartment nearby after police gained a warrant to enter and a spare key.
