Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada, famous for her psychedelic colours, hearts and geometrical patterns in handbags, jewellery, accessories, clothing, household textiles and stationery items, is now selling protective masks in three different designs in budget German supermarket chain Lidl.
Coming in packs of two, they cost just €3.99, of which €1 will be donated to the global charity Save The Children.
The masks are in adult sizes – in multi-coloured polka-dot, pink hearts, or white hearts on a blue background – showing that being a grown-up doesn't have to mean being boring.
But you'll have to keep a close eye on your local Lidl store and pounce when you get the chance: According to the grocery chain, only a quarter of a million two-packs are available for sale in the whole of Spain, meaning they are likely to shift fast and may not be obtainable in all stores.
Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada, who hails from Madrid – where one of her bespoke stores is based, on the C/ Colón; the other being in Barcelona – knows about the importance of protective hygiene masks: Her own husband, she revealed this week, was in hospital with his life hanging in the balance after catching Covid-19.
Happily, he is now recovered, at home, and has tested negative for the condition.
