ACTOR Antonio Banderas' and actress Melanie Griffith's daughter Stella del Carmen has just started a career as a model and graces the front page of the Spanish edition of Glamour magazine.
The 23-year-old stepsister of Dakota Johnson has not long finished university, where she studied creative writing, and has also qualified as a yoga instructor – but the apple has not fallen far from the tree as far as media fame is concerned.
A fashion photographic report created in Los Angeles shows the daughter of Goya-winner Antonio as 'mysterious, radiant and with a cinematic beauty', according to the text.
The report describes Stella del Carmen's mixed heritage – how she was born in Marbella, in her dad's native province, but grew up in the 'City of Angels' on the California coast.
“I know LA like the palm of my hand, but Málaga is still a mystery to me,” the youngster admits.
“I need to spend more time in Spain. It's something I do want to do at some point.
Stella del Carmen tried to follow in her parents' footsteps as a child, doing theatre, but found auditions a nightmare – her naturally timid, reserved nature stood in her way.
Although various 'starry' projects have been filling her diary for years, her début in Glamour is the first time any of these jobs has been in front of a camera.
“I'm not trying to be an actress – at least, not at the moment,” she confesses.
But Stella del Carmen loves writing.
“I studied creative writing because I've always loved literature – writing is something I really want to do,” she reveals.
In fact, she has already started as a columnist in the Spanish edition of Vanity Fair magazine.
Also a yoga master, Stella del Carmen is currently building a website called Lightbound, which contains articles on the environment, sustainability and meditation.
She and her friend, designer Emma Newbern, are also running a project on Instagram, offering tools and tips for improving mental and physical health and wellbeing.
And she wants to go back to university, this time to study a degree in charity and social change.
“There are so many things I want to do with my life – I've taken a step towards myself and towards knowing what I want,” she says.
As for her famous dad, Stella del Carmen was right there with him during the Oscars when he was nominated for the first time in his entire career – which started in 1982 – for the most recent film by cult Spanish director Pedro Almodóvar, Dolor y Gloria ('Pain and Glory').
“I love watching him through Pedro Almodóvar's eyes,” admits Stella del Carmen, who says her favourite word in the Spanish language is chiquita, which her father calls her.
