IF YOU'RE in the Comunidad Valenciana any time between now and the early hours of March 20, you may notice an awful lot of noise and colour on the streets. It's the season for the region's biggest festival,...
Glasgow rockers Primal Scream at this summer's Benidorm Low Festival
08/04/2022
PRIMAL Scream is among at least 13 bands and artists who have confirmed their presence at one of the Costa Blanca's biggest music festivals this summer.
Now 40 years old, the Glasgow-based rockers are on tour over 2022 and 2023, and one of this year's stops will be at the Benidorm Low Festival.
So-named because of its low-price tickets, the three-day party has a swimming pool next to the stage, which means revellers can take a dip to cool down if they get sweaty dancing the night away.
And as it takes place between July 29 and 31, it's a time of year on the Mediterranean coast when pools and beaches are a godsend.
As yet, of the bands and artists who are definites for the programme, the only internationally-famous act is Primal Scream, although more are expected to sign up.
Even then, groups who play at major music festivals will, by default, be exceptionally good, meaning you might discover a new favourite band by accident.
Many of those playing at festivals nationwide also do the rounds of local fiestas, so their names may sound familiar.
Solo singer Amaia, along with Izal, Metronomy, and Nathy Peluso were among the first, together with Primal Scream, to put their names down, and another six have confirmed this week that they will be there.
Dorian, Chico Blanco, Lewis OfMan, Editors, Bifannah, Reigning Sound and Dora have been added to the schedule of musicians and singers due to perform at the Guillermo Amor Sports City this summer.
Vibra Mahou, a music download platform linked to the beer manufacturer of the same name, will be taking part with between-the-acts DJ-ing.
Tickets can be for the day, for all three days, a VIP pass with sun-beds, fast-track access, exclusive bar and restaurant with special prices, and priority-view seating, or VIP-with-pool pass where you can access the swimming pool and get free beer served to you in the water.
They are already on sale, and you can buy yours at Lowfestival.es/abonos/ by clicking on the icon 'Compra tu abono #Low2022'.
