The Sopelana nudist race held yesterday on Barinatxe beach attracted 130 athletes of both sexes from all over the world. The annual 5,000m race has been held every year since 1998 and attracted Spanish runners from Cantabria, Castilla León, Cataluña, Valencia, and Madrid, although the majority were from the Basque country. There were also participants from France, Japan, Peru, and the UK. The men´s race was won by nº 69, Mikel Estébanez in a time of 19 minutes 16 seconds, and the women´s event by last year´s winner, Jone Etxebarria in 27 minutes 15 seconds.
