This is such a lovely property in a wonderful location with the most stunning views and so tranquil. It is connected to a neighbour at the rear so, to all intents and purposes, it is semi-detached, but you would not at any time be aware of it.

Just five minutes from the town of Sax and two minutes from the A31 Alicante to Madrid Autovia yet, when you are at the property, you feel as if you are in the very heart of the countryside.

Access is good, there is around 500 metres of road that is in need of resurfacing but it´s not a 4x4 track by any means. The gate to the driveway is remotely controlled and at the bottom of the driveway is a concreted area large enough for a number of cars to be parked and there is a stand-alone garage for one car. At the rear of the garage is a BBQ.

The house is entered via the Conservatory which is where the owners spend the vast majority of their time as it really is quite beautiful and very comfortable and features remotely controlled blinds for when you require shade and windows that open up for the mountain breeze to flow through at other times.

From the Conservatory you enter the lounge/diner which features a superb cast iron fire and pizza/bread oven. The day we went to take the photos etc there was bread in the oven and the smell was incredible. The combination of the aroma of the bread and also of the pine, words cannot describe sufficiently.

There is one bedroom accessed from the lounge/diner and, if I were buying the property, I would most probably give up that bedroom and make it into a separate dining area but then again, there is a full-size dining table in the Conservatory.

A hallway leads through to the bathroom and the kitchen. The kitchen is typically Spanish, which is another way of saying "small” but the Spanish do so much of their cooking on the BBQ. Also, country properties like these are rarely used for full-time living and mainly for weekends and holidays. The Spanish tend to live in an apartment in the town during the working week and then on Friday they drive out a few minutes to their country house and then return to the town late on Sunday.

Back to the property. There are three more small double bedrooms off the hallway so that the sleeping and living areas are separate, which is something I particularly like.

The gardens and land are absolutely lovely. There are steps down to the private swimming pool where there is the second bathroom and the area is not overlooked. There is plenty of terrace space for sunbathing, relaxing or even enjoying a little alfresco dining.

At the price of 239,995€ this is a great opportunity to get a foothold in Spain and it´s a pleasure to view.
