Finca/Country House for sale in Es Castell, Menorca

Set in a peaceful and private setting, this beautiful traditional Menorcan country house enjoys a wonderful south-facing orientation and a timeless sense of place. Full of authentic island character, the property retains its original marès stone walls and traditional features, creating a warm and welcoming home where the history of Menorca can be felt throughout.

The house offers four bedrooms and four bathrooms, with generous living spaces designed to make the most of life both indoors and outside.

On the ground floor, the entrance opens into a comfortable living room with a fireplace, creating a natural gathering place for cooler evenings. The dining room leads onto a private terrace, while the spacious kitchen is full of character, featuring the original wood-fired oven, a traditional cistern and an informal office area. From here, there is direct access to the garden, making it easy to move between the house and the outdoor spaces.

The garden and swimming pool unfold over two levels, following the contours of the old quarry from which the marès stone for the house was originally taken. It is a wonderfully atmospheric setting for long summer lunches, relaxing by the pool or simply enjoying the peaceful surroundings.

Upstairs, a study and bright second sitting area open onto a south-facing terrace-solarium, a particularly special spot from which to enjoy views towards La Mola and spectacular sunrises. A bedroom with its own bathroom also opens directly onto the terrace.

The property has several additional features that add both charm and potential, including an annex that could be converted into an independent apartment, a traditional bouer with a newly renewed roof and potential for renovation and an authentic safareig with its own well.

More than simply a country house, this is a property with a genuine connection to Menorca — a place to enjoy slow mornings, long lunches, summer days by the pool and evenings around the fireplace, surrounded by the architecture, landscape and atmosphere that make the island so special.

A rare opportunity to create a truly personal Menorcan home, combining authenticity, character, outdoor living and future potential in a wonderfully peaceful setting.
