Betlem is located in a remote location on a narrow strip of land between the Mediterranean Sea and the mountains of Artà, a part of the Serres de Llevant mountain range.

It is situated at the foot of the Son Morell and Puig de Ferrutx mountains. There is only a dirt road to the east to Punta d'es Calo. Cales de Betlem is an area with small sandy and rocky coves.

About three kilometres west of Betlem is Colonia de Sant Pere, which is a beautiful fishing port with several bars and restaurants. A hiking trail leads south into the mountains past the Font de s’Ermita spring to the Ermita de Betlem.
