The Intempo building is a skyscraper 202 meters tall with 47 floors located in Benidorm (Alicante). Its design was carried out by the Alicante architecture firm Pérez-Guerras. The building plans were presented in 2006, and construction began in 2007. At that time, Spain was immersed in a real estate bubble, and its completion was scheduled for mid-2010, but due to the outbreak of the crisis and the emergence of numerous problems, both financial and technical, it was postponed for several years. Additionally, several aspects of the initial design underwent various modifications due to a lack of foresight, the innovative elements of the structure, and the complexity of the work. The structure was topped off in March 2012. The skyscraper stands out for its peculiar geometric configuration consisting of two straight parallel towers, which are connected by an inverted cone with an elliptical base at a height of 150 meters. The structure's fundamental characteristic is its very high slenderness. The structure of the towers is made of reinforced concrete, with the side walls in exposed concrete, only interrupted by a small window on each floor for bathroom ventilation. The front facade is made of a discontinuous curtain wall of glass with golden tones. The facade underwent wind tunnel tests using a scale model and performed well, with the cone acting favorably by sucking in the wind. From the 38th floor onwards, the characteristics of the apartments will be adaptable to the owner's needs. Externally, it will feature two swimming pools—one semi-Olympic and another for children—landscaped and recreational areas, a solarium, and sports facilities with a spa, gym, and sauna. The building has three basement levels designated for a total of 389 parking spaces as well as storage rooms and cabins. The slight slope at the entrance is overcome by a staircase, with a row of palm trees on each side, and a small panoramic elevator. The apartments in the building are accessible by a total of six elevators, three per tower (two regular and one freight elevator). The elevators can travel from the third basement to the 45th floor in 55 seconds, at a speed of 4.2 meters per second, making them the fastest in a residential development in Spain.
