Costitx, in the Pla de Mallorca, is a small municipality in the central region of Mallorca. It is famous for the bronze age bull heads known as the Bous de Costitx, discovered at the Talayotic sanctuary of Son Corró close to the village. The originals are on display at Museu Arqueològic Nacional d’Espanya in Madrid; the village has copies on display in the cultural centre. The Observatorio Astronómico de Mallorca is also just to the south of the village, benefiting from its central location, the elevation of the landscape and relatively low light levels.
