Cales de Mallorca is located on the east coast roughly halfway between the two towns of Porto Cristo and Portocolom. The town center is located on a limestone rock formation, which is crisscrossed by numerous caves at sea level.
The infrastructure of the village is mainly geared towards tourism. There are various hotel and apartment complexes as well as individual vacation homes and apartments. The center of Calas de Mallorca is affectionately known as the "Centro Comercial" (shopping center).
It is the area of the town that offers a wide range of entertainment with various bars and restaurants, shopping facilities and leisure activities such as mini-golf.
The town's administrative center offers public services such as a post office, a local police station, a tourist information office and a doctor's office.
With Cala Domingo Gran, Cala Domingo Petits and Cala Antena, the village has a total of three large sandy bays, which also gave the village its name. All three bays are known for their excellent bathing water quality. A well-paved coastal path connects Cala Domingo Gran with Cala Antena.
