The AVE high speed train link is expected to be finished in 2027 with the nearest station already being built in Vera, a 20 minute drive from Arboleas. This will connect Almeria to major cities such as Barcelona and Madrid and other major cities and there are also plans to put in more infrastructure for a commercial centre and other services close to the station.
