It is situated in a small hamlet called La Teja. Cortes de Baza is just a short drive away and is the nearest village. It is a very unspoilt and historical village situated on the northern point of the beautiful Negratin Lake, with a doctors surgery, dentist, chemist, two supermarkets, bakery, butcher, fishmongers, a large municipal swimming pool (July to September), two banks, two mechanics, petrol station and several bars serving excellent local food.

The coast is around 1 h 40 minutes away by car (145 km). There are also beach areas at Lake Negratin, about 40 minutes drive from Cortes de Baza.
