San Miguel de Salinas

San Miguel de Salinas is a popular Spanish town, around 15 minutes drive from the beaches of Mil Palmeras, Campoamor, Cabo Roig, La Zenia, Torrevieja, La Mata and Guardamar, and surrounded by beautiful countryside with citrus and almond groves and the Sierra Escalona national park. You can walk and cycle for miles along the canal next to the town.

There is a wide variety of bars and restaurants, both Spanish and international (including an annual tapas event). The town offers excellent amenities, including primary and secondary schools, a health centre that never closes, pharmacies, an outdoor swimming pool, sports facilities and more. The weekly Wednesday street market is a great opportunity to buy locally grown fruit and vegetables, hams, cheeses, olives, clothing and shoes.

Good local taxi service and buses run several times daily to Torrevieja, Orihuela and Murcia. Alicante and Murcia airport are approximately 40 minutes’ drive away. Internet services are generally fast (fibre-optic) and reliable.
