The local village of Canals is 3 km away and has local shops such as a butchers, greengrocers, banks, pharmacy, bars/cafes, three supermarkets, and a local market. There is also a 24-hour medical centre, and it is where you will find the nearest infant/junior and senior teenage education.
The larger historic town of Xàtiva is 15 minutes away with all the shops and amenities you would expect from a larger Spanish working town, including a lively nightlife, numerous banks, shops, supermarkets, and even its own castle. There is also a train station where you can be in Valencia in 30 minutes for the cost of about €9 for a day return. There is also a British school here if you needed one.
Just 15 minutes’ drive inland you will find the lovely lakes and waterfalls in Anna and Chella for those not wanting the beaches. If not, the beaches of Tavernes are 45 minutes by car and the water park in Cullera is 35 minutes away.
All of this, and yet only 45 minutes south of Valencia and 75 minutes north of Alicante airports respectively, both served by numerous international airlines.
