Undeveloped Land for sale in Costitx, Mallorca
- 35 m2
- 28250 m2
Description
Plot of land for sale in Costitx (28,000 m²) with a small ancient building in ruins.
The landscape surrounding Costitx is typical of the ancient farming practices of Mallorca, a patchwork of fields planted with olive groves, carob trees, fig trees, and extensive almond orchards surrounded with dry stone walls.
This property comprises two separate plots of land which have become overgrown with wild olive saplings. The small ancient building on the plot, now in ruins, was probably used as a shepherd’s hut during the spring, then the flocks were grazing below the almond orchards and olive groves, and it was also a place to process produce from the almond and olive groves at harvest time.
The process of applying for a licence for a deep borehole for water has begun, which should enhance any application for a building licence for the plots.
Though overgrown, the plots are easily accessible from the village of Costitx via a paved road, just a few minutes from the central plaza. Please contact for more information or to arrange a visit.
Costitx in the Pla de Mallorca is a small municipality in central Mallorca, famous for the Bronze Age bull heads known as the Bous de Costitx, discovered at the Talayotic sanctuary of Son Corró close to the village.
The originals are on display at Museu Arqueològic Nacional d’Espanya in Madrid; the village has copies on display in the cultural centre. The Observatorio Astronómico de Mallorca is also just to the south of the village, and benefits from its central location on the island, the elevation of the landscape, and relatively low light levels.
