Lucena is a municipality in Córdoba, 67 kilometers from the provincial capital. It is located at an important road-communications junction in the geographical center of Andalusia. It is next to the newly built A-45 motorway (Córdoba–Málaga), which runs close to the west side of the city, and the Autovía del Olivar (Estepa–Úbeda), which passes alongside the city center. A few meters away is Miguel Cuenca Avenue, which connects it to the city center, becoming a kind of bypass popularly known as “L-30”. It has regular urban bus routes that cover most points in the city, passing through all neighborhoods in the town. It also has different shopping centers and hypermarkets, along with major industries related to furniture, wood, and industrial refrigeration.
