Old Town area of Altea
The old town of Altea, declared a Property of Cultural Interest, is one of the prettiest on the Costa Blanca. With its cobbled alleyways and its white-painted houses, a Mediterranean atmosphere is felt in every corner. In the heart of it is the Plaza de la Iglesia and the Iglesia de Ntra. Señora del Consuelo as the central hub. Its streets feature many craft shops, art galleries, and a wide number of restaurants such as La Capella, where you can enjoy local food, l´Ousteau, international cuisine, Stromboli, Italian cuisine, el Mamarosa, vegetarian cuisine,… It also has several viewpoints and small squares, such as the Mirador del Cronista or the Mirador del Portal Viejo, from where you can admire Serra Gelada, El Albir, the Bay of Altea, and the Peñón de Ifach. Access to Altea
Altea is 50 km from Alicante, 10 km from Benidorm, and 130 km from Valencia. Altea has easy access by road via both the motorway and the N-332 National Road, but it is also connected by bus with both provincial capitals of Alicante and Valencia and with Benidorm, and it also has a TRAM service that connects it with Benidorm and Alicante. To reach Altea by road, you can take the N-332 National Road or the Mediterranean Highway AP-7, exit 64. It has easy access to two airports:
