About Us
In 2001 my wife Caroline and I made the exciting decision to relocate to Andalusia from Suffolk in the UK. We worked for 20 years in the hospitality industry, managing a hotel and restaurant and eventually running our own successful country pub and restaurant business.
Malcolm and Caroline in Spain
We had already bought a small village property in Spain to renovate with the intention of spending our free time there but primarily as a rental investment. During this time we both fell in love with Sedella (our Spanish village), the area of the Axarquía and the Spanish way of life. Suddenly we realized that to move to Spain permanently was a realistic proposition and within a few short months we had sold our house in the UK and bought another ´renovation project´ in the village as our full-time home. Our Spanish adventure had begun !
Once we had renovated our rental house we immediately started a property care and maintenance business, Moore Property Services, looking after holiday rentals, construction /renovation work and project managing, basing ourselves here within this beautiful and natural environment.
During our search we found out that, just like buying a house in our home country, it is important to contact the right people who understand the real estate market well and know all the rules and legal aspects here in Andalusia. In this period we got to know Marita van Wijngaarden for whom we took care of their rental property when she and her husband Jan were back in Holland.
With many lessons learned, we decided to use this knowledge to help other people who also want to buy a house in this beautiful area and started, in cooperation with Marita, Second Home Andalusia. After 10 years business is going from strength to strength and we are happy to have realized many of our clients dreams of owning their little piece of Andalusia.

Our aim is to find your ideal dream house from all the properties that are for sale in the Axarquia area of Andalusia. We have no shop window or many houses for sale because, as Property Finders, we believe in personal attention and tailor made offers; therefore we always work on a specific request basis.
All team members have lived and worked for many years in this region of Andalusia, speak the language(s) and have their own specific expertise and background. The perfect combination, we think, to support you in each step required to realize your dream. Therefore we can also arrange all the after sales work because, as we know with the sale complete, it is actually just the beginning.
We cooperate with many local companies and contacts, from reliable local estate agents, legal councillors, administration offices and local builders, to ‘old men’ in villages who know everyone and everything in their town. In this way we can ‘spread the net’ to find, buy and maintain that one perfect property for you.
Focus area Andalusia
Second Home Andalusia focuses on the traditional white villages of ??Canillas de Aceituno, Sedella, Salares ,Canillas De Albaida and Competa and the countryside surrounding these beautiful mountain villages. We also focus on the inland areas around Lake Vinuela and Rio Gordo along with the coastal towns of Benajarafe, Torre del Mar, Torrox and Nerja.
