Living in Benissa
Farming in Benissa is almost entirely dry farming, without irrigation, and tourism is now the main driver of the local economy. Benissa's neo-Gothic church of the Puríssima Xiqueta is known as the Cathedral of the Marina. The Franciscan convent from 1645 still has the look of a fortress. From the villa it is about a 10-minute drive to Calpe and its sandy beaches, and the rocky Benissa coast with its coves is less than 15 minutes away.
