Lovely apartment set in main building overlooking pool, garden and patio in Casa Tia Maria, Acequias, 30 km south from Granada, 30 km to the Costa Tropical.

The apartment looks towards the hills to the east and overlooks the Valley of Lecrin to the south west. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms, a large terrace overlooking the garden and pool, and a large living room with TV. Rental price includes wifi and all other utilities.

The beach (Salobreña), the pueblos balancos of the Alpujarra, and the city of Granada and Alhambra, are all within easy reach. It is a completely unspoilt location with all the best Spain has to offer within 30 minutes drive.

The Valley of Lecrin has a history dating from Roman times, but there are also Neolithic remains to be seen in the surrounding countryside. The most important archaeological remains are the castle of Mondujar, rumoured to be the burial place of Emperor Mulhacen and the ruined castle of Murchas, but there are numerous fine old churches as well.

Nearby the village of Niguelas has a lot of cultural events, bars and restaurants. You can walk there from Acequias cross country in less than half an hour.

You can also access the charming villages of the Alpujarra, the Ruta del Vino, and the high villages made famous in Gerald Brennan's "South from Granada". Here there are numerous pathways, but the roads are so quiet they can also be walked in peace and safety.
