Hotel for sale in Mula, Murcia

For sale in a beautiful 19th century mansion in Mula, located in the historic center and cataloged for its cultural relevance with protection degree 2.

The historic building, located in front of the Lope de Vega Theater, on Calle Don Pedro Luis, has been put up for sale for 245,000 euros, a price that includes the "quality" furniture it houses.

The mansion offers the possibility, as one of the main uses that could be given to it, of being converted into a charming little hotel or something similar, since the thousand square meter house is in a perfect location both to live in it and to open a tourist accommodation. In fact, they say, they have already received some inquiries from hotel companies who are interested.

The mansion has a living room with kitchen and fireplace, and another glazed kitchen with access to a patio -in which there is the possibility of building a swimming pool-, five bedrooms, several bathrooms and exterior balconies. As is typical of this type of palace, there is a large ballroom (in which there would be space for half a dozen bedrooms if it were used as a hotel).

They also point out that this three-storey traditional house (the last one, of lower height) has a lot of light, as well as a large number of ornamental elements, with a double door (the interior highly decorated and in a modernist style), with a majestic central staircase and antique floors.

The history of the property is linked to the Blaya family, who constituted a hidalgo lineage of possible French origin, arriving in Muleña around 1490, from the town of Hellín (Albacete). Their uncertain ancestry links them to Don Roldán, Count of Blaya and nephew of Charlemagne, who traveled to Spain to participate in the Christian Reconquest. The first Blaya installed in Mula was Don Gonzalo de Blaya y Valcárcel, who married Doña María Jiménez de Palomeque Padilla.

The same sources add that during the Modern Age (16th and 17th centuries) they amassed a considerable fortune, thanks to a strategy of links with the old oligarchies of the town, especially with the Melgarejos, so that during the 18th century the family was the second richest in the city, after the Valcárcel, being raised in these years the Painted House by Don Diego de Blaya and Molina. The luxurious residences in which they resided served to display their wealth and the nobility of their lineage.
