Coal was once produced in this area. The men came into the forest for several days in the summer, built makeshift huts out of bushes and branches and burned wood for days to turn it into charcoal. Traces of this are still visible today.

Later came an order of missionaries. The nuns moved into a small, simple house at the foot of the mountain to retreat in the summer months and strengthen their faith. According to the rule 'Ora et Labora', the nuns used this place of reflection for prayers. They also built water depots, which are still intact today and created a natural fountain near the main house, and took care of the maintenance of the houses and the land.

The land is wide and offers numerous opportunities for hiking and relaxation. At least two natural mountain springs originate here. They can be reached via hiking trails. On your way you will always come to great viewing points from which you can see the sea and the mountains.
