Lucena is a municipality in Córdoba, 67 kilometers from the provincial capital. It is located at an important road junction in the geographic center of Andalusia. It is next to the newly built A-45 highway (Córdoba–Málaga), which runs close to the west area of the city, and the Autovía del Olivar (Estepa–Úbeda), which passes alongside the city center. Since, just a few meters away, there is Avenida Miguel Cuenca that connects it to the city center, it becomes a kind of ring road, popularly called “L-30”. It has regular scheduled city buses that reach most points in the city, passing through all the neighborhoods of the town. It also has various shopping centers and hypermarkets, along with major industries related to furniture, wood, and industrial refrigeration.
