Description
We are looking for an experienced, passionate and organised Head Chef to lead our kitchen
and provide fresh, healthy and nutritious meals for both clients and staff.

The Role
As our Head Chef, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the kitchen, ensuring
every meal is nutritious, well-presented and prepared to the highest standards.
You will plan varied weekly menus, manage food purchasing and budgets, supervise other
chefs, and ensure the kitchen complies with all Spanish food safety regulations.
This is not a restaurant environment. Instead, you´ll have the opportunity to create high-
quality home-style meals that positively contribute to our clients; recovery journey.
Responsibilities
You´ll be responsible for:
- Leading and supervising the kitchen team, including cover chefs.
- Planning healthy, balanced weekly menus.
- Preparing lunch and dinner for up to 8 clients and 6 staff.
- Catering for allergies, dietary requirements and cultural preferences.
- Managing food budgets, stock control and ordering.
- Reducing food waste and carrying out regular stock takes.
- Ensuring all food is correctly stored, labelled and safely prepared.
- Maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness and organisation.
- Ensuring compliance with HACCP principles and Spanish food safety legislation.
- Maintaining food safety records, temperature logs and cleaning schedules.
- Training and supporting kitchen staff.
- Using the company vehicle for shopping when required.
- Working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to support the therapeutic
environment.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Previous experience as a Head Chef or Senior Chef.
- Excellent cooking skills with a passion for healthy, nutritious food.
- Experience planning menus and managing food budgets.
- Strong organisational and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Excellent spoken English.
- Legally entitled to work in Spain.
- Full driving licence.
- Non-smoker.
- Holds, or is willing to obtain prior to commencement, a valid Spanish Food Handler
Certificate (Carnet de Manipulador de Alimentos).
Desirable
- Spanish speaking.
- Culinary qualification.
- Experience within healthcare, rehabilitation or residential care.
- Knowledge of nutrition and special dietary requirements.
- Food Safety/HACCP qualification.
