OVER 2,000 visitors went along for the opening of Terra Mítica theme park in Benidorm for the start of the spring-summer 2013 season this weekend, where Alicante-born actress Vanesa Romero was the guest of honour.
Numerous brand-new attractions have been added to the park, which already includes film theatres, sophisticated fairground rides, and areas themed on Classical Egypt, Greece and Rome.
A new 5-D cinema has been set up, as well as a jacuzzi and spa for kids and adults alike.
Other features include a children's show area called Plaka Kids, a zone called the Secret of the Pyramid, and another area known as the Imperium.
Terra Mítica, one of the major attractions for visitors to Benidorm (Alicante) along with theme parks Aqualandia, Terra Natura and Mundomar, is recovering well after a few troubled years during which it encountered financial difficulties that saw it go into receivership, and continues to be as popular as ever with holidaymakers from Spain and abroad as well as day-trippers who live locally.
