20/04/2017
POLICE in Málaga found and returned €10,000 in cash which a Danish tourist lost in the Costa del Sol airport terminal.
Another holidaymaker found the two wads of €50 notes after the owner had already caught his flight home.
The finder had just got out of his car to take some suitcases to the arrivals area of terminal 2 when he discovered the cash.
He is a Swedish national about to fly home who found it as he was being dropped off but, as his own flight was about to leave, did not have time to hand in the cash.
Once he arrived in Sweden, however, he contacted Spanish police, who traced the hired car which had been in front of him as he got out.
This turned out to be in the name of a Dane who had reported the money as having been lost.
The finder banked the cash and arranged a transfer to the rightful owner through the police force's information.
