Murcia trains back on track after four days of no service
TRAINS are finally running again in the Region of Murcia after four days without service due to radical protesters having damaged the track.

The section between Murcia city's El Carmen station on the Murcia-Alicante outer suburban, or Cercanías line, has been affected, which has also interrupted travel on the Murcia-Cartagena medium-distance train, the Cartagena-Murcia-Valencia-Barcelona line including its extension to Lorca, and the Cartagena-Murcia-Madrid, both long-distance trains.

Free bus replacement services have been thrown on until today for passengers travelling from Murcia, Cartagena, Torre Pacheco's Balsicas station, and Orihuela in the south of the Alicante province.

At least 31 trains were affected yesterday alone.

The major destruction in the early hours of Wednesday was caused by activists protesting against the line going underground, the latest of three weeks' worth of constant demonstrations on the track.
