Bones of Civil War execution victims exhumed in Salamanca
The Association for the Recovery of Historical Memory (ARMH) has discovered the remains of four men allegedly shot by Franco's forces during the Civil War between August 12th and 13th 1936 in Boadilla (Salamanca).

According to the association, which collects the oral and written testimonies about crimes perpetrated under Francisco Franco and excavates and identifies bodies of those executed, said the four bodies were dumped in a mass grave in the civil part of the cemetery in Boadilla.

In a press release, the ARMH stated that the granddaughters of two of the murdered men were present as the bones of the four victims were exhumed.

The aim of the dig had been to find the remains of four labourers from Robleda who were murdered by the Falange, the sole legal party of the Francoist State in Spain.

The victims were Esteban Mateos Mateos, Tiburcio Mateos Mateos, Emilio Gutiérrez Pascual and Julio Calzada Blasco.

The dig has been supervised by the archeaologist Serxio Castro working with a team of a dozen volunteers from all over Spain.
