SPANISH tennis star Fernando Verdasco and his wife Ana Boyer – half-sister of pop legend Enrique Iglesias – have just given birth to their first child, Miguel.
Their son is named after Ana’s father, Miguel Boyer, a socialist MP who died five years ago.
According to ¡Hola! magazine, the couple arrived at an undisclosed Madrid hospital on Tuesday morning with their suitcases packed, and in the next few hours, Fernando’s parents José Verdasco and Olga Carmona arrived to visit them, followed by Ana’s mum Isabel Preysler.
Ana gave birth on Tuesday night, and members of the family trickled out of the building to speak to reporters and confirm mother and baby were both doing well.
Spanish-Philippine model, presenter and ‘it-girl’ Isabel Preysler – ex-wife of crooner Julio Iglesias and mother of Enrique Iglesias, who is now married to Peruvian novelist and former presidential candidate Mario Vargas Llosa, is said to be delighted at the news of her fifth grandchild’s arrival.
Her first two were her daughter Chábeli Iglesias’ children, followed by Enrique’s twins, born in December 2017 to his wife, retired Russian tennis star and model Anna Kournikova.
Enrique and Anna Kournikova are now auntie and uncle again following baby Miguel’s birth.
Ana Boyer and Fernando Verdasco have not yet released photos of their newborn son.
