Cortes de Baza is just a short drive and is a very unspoilt and historical village situated on the north point of the beautiful Negratin Lake, and has a doctors surgery, dentist, chemist, two supermarkets, bakery, butchers, fishmongers, a large municipal swimming pool (July-Sept), two banks, two mechanics, petrol station and several bars serving excellent local food.

The coast is around 1h40 minutes away by car (145km), however there are also beach areas at Lake Negratin which is about 40 minutes drive from Cortes de Baza.
