A TWO-YEAR-OLD girl has been murdered by her father in Alzira (Valencia province) following what is believed to have been a dispute between the toddler's parents, according to Local Police.
The accused, 28, is said to have cut the child's throat before hurling himself out of the window of the family's second-storey flat.
Although paramedics were unable to save the tot's life, her father suffered only minor injuries.
He landed on a parked car, which broke his fall.
Police were called out at around 17.00 this evening (Sunday) to the block at number 12 of the C/ Padre Castell in the inland town, the capital of the Ribera Alta district and about halfway between the city of Valencia and the Alicante province border to the south.
The girl's mother, 24, a Romanian national – as is the father – was not at home at the time, but had to be treated for shock and anxiety at the scene and then admitted to La Ribera district hospital in Alzira.
The killing is thought to have been a 'revenge crime' in response to a dispute between the couple, who were still living together when the child was murdered.
